Welcome to Northeast India. Your journey begins early in the morning from Dibrugarh as you drive towards Aalo (also known as Along). Aalo is a beautiful town located on the banks of the Siang River at an altitude of 1,020 ft. Known for its scenic valleys and lush greenery, it is home to the Galo and Adi tribes, one of the most prominent tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. Overnight stay: Aalo
After breakfast, proceed towards Mechuka Valley, located in the northwestern part of Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at an altitude of around 6,000 ft above sea level, Mechuka is a breathtaking valley surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The Siyom River (also known as Yargyapchu) flows through this picturesque valley. Mechuka, meaning “medicinal water of snow, is a peaceful Buddhist hamlet located close to the Indo-Tibetan border. After breakfast, visit the historic 400-year-old Buddhist monastery in Mechuka. This two-storeyed wooden structure reflects ancient architecture and houses several old stone inscriptions. It is believed to be older than the renowned Tawang Monastery. Later, visit Dorjeeling Village, located about 12 km away. This quiet and scenic village is known for its traditional wooden houses, farmlands, and natural streams, offering a glimpse into the local lifestyle. Overnight stay: Mechuka
After breakfast, explore the major attractions of Mechuka Valley. Visit Chupala Island, a serene spot perfect for relaxation amidst nature. Later, head to Mechuka Adventure Park, known for offering one of the longest zip-lining experiences in Northeast India. If time permits, you may also visit the nearby Indo-China (LAC) border area. After breakfast, begin your return journey towards Pasighat. This will be a long yet scenic drive through the hills and valleys of Arunachal Pradesh. Arrive in Pasighat by evening. Overnight stay: Pasighat
