Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
Day 1: Dimapur – Kohima (74 km / 3 hrs)
• Arrive at Dimapur Airport / Railway Station, the gateway to Nagaland. • Drive through scenic hill roads, lush valleys, and charming villages on the way to Kohima, the capital city. • Check-in at your hotel and relax after the journey. • In the evening, take a leisurely walk in Kohima town and its vibrant local market, where you can soak in the atmosphere and get your first glimpse of Naga lifestyle. • Overnight stay at Kohima.
DAY 2
Day 2: Kohima Local Sightseeing
• After breakfast, begin sightseeing with a visit to the Kohima War Cemetery, a serene memorial dedicated to soldiers who fought during World War II. • Explore the Nagaland State Museum, home to fascinating tribal artifacts, ornaments, and cultural displays. • Visit the Kisama Heritage Village, the venue for the famous Hornbill Festival, where traditional Naga huts and exhibits showcase the culture of all 16 Naga tribes. • In the evening, spend time at local markets, shop for handicrafts, handloom items, and enjoy some Naga street food. • Overnight stay at Kohima.
DAY 3
Day 3: Kohima – Dzukou Valley Trek
• Early breakfast followed by a drive to Viswema or Zakhama village, the base point for the trek. • Begin your trek to Dzukou Valley (approx. 5–6 hours) – a journey through forests, bamboo thickets, and winding trails. • Reach the mesmerizing Dzukou Valley, known as the “Valley of Flowers of the North East,” with rolling meadows, wildflowers, and stunning views. • Enjoy your packed lunch amidst nature. • Trek back to the base point and drive to Kohima. • Overnight stay at Kohima.
DAY 4
Day 4: Kohima Village Tour
• Visit Khonoma Village, Asia’s first Green Village, admired for its eco-friendly practices and conservation efforts. • Learn about the heroic history and community spirit of the Angami tribe. • Explore Jakhama or Kigwema villages, where you’ll see traditional Naga houses, wood carvings, and local lifestyle. • Optional: Relish an authentic Naga meal at a local homestay, for an immersive experience. • Evening free for exploring Kohima town or relaxing at the hotel. • Overnight stay at Kohima.
DAY 5
Day 5: Kohima – Dimapur (Departure)
• Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. • Take a scenic drive back to Dimapur, passing through hills and valleys. • Drop-off at Dimapur Airport / Railway Station for your onward journey, concluding the trip with unforgettable memories of Nagaland’s history, culture, and natural beauty.
